PhraseX

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 23, 2026

PhraseX is a tool for inserting phrases, clipboard content, and script output. We care about the content you type and save. This policy explains how the PhraseX app and its keyboard extension handle data when you use these features.

1. Privacy at a glance

  • PhraseX does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or user-tracking SDKs. We do not sell user data or use it for targeted advertising.
  • Categories, phrases, clipboard history, and scripts are stored by default only on your device and in PhraseX’s shared App Group container. The PhraseX developer cannot read this local content.
  • PhraseX does not use developer-operated servers to store or relay your phrases, clipboard content, scripts, or keyboard input.
  • The data processing described below occurs only when you choose to enable iCloud sync, make an in-app purchase, contact support, or run a script that requires network requests.

2. Content stored on your device

The categories, phrases, and scripts you create, along with the history saved through the clipboard feature, are stored by default in a container on your device shared by PhraseX and its keyboard extension. The keyboard reads this content to insert the phrase, clipboard entry, or script output you select.

When you open the app’s Clipboard page or switch the PhraseX keyboard to clipboard mode, the app attempts to read text from the current system clipboard and add it to your history. You can view, edit, delete, or clear this history in the app. Please avoid saving sensitive information, such as passwords or verification codes, in clipboard history.

3. Keyboard and selected text

The PhraseX keyboard inserts the phrases you select and the results of scripts you run. A script reads selected text in the current text field as a parameter only when you explicitly tap a script that requires parameters. PhraseX does not log your everyday keystrokes for advertising or analytics.

The keyboard’s Allow Full Access setting is a system permission required to run network scripts. Enabling this permission does not mean that PhraseX automatically sends everything you type over the network.

4. Optional iCloud sync

If you have PhraseX Pro and choose to enable iCloud sync, your categories, phrases, clipboard history, and scripts are stored through Apple CloudKit in the private database associated with your Apple Account, so they can sync across your devices. If you do not enable this feature, PhraseX’s iCloud sync feature does not upload this content to CloudKit. Apple provides the iCloud service, and its processing is also governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Turning off sync withdraws your authorization for future syncing and stops subsequent sync activity, but does not automatically delete data already stored in iCloud. While sync is enabled, deleting content in PhraseX may also delete it from your other devices using the same Apple Account. You can also manage or remove cloud data using Apple’s iCloud data management options, or contact us at the email address below for help.

5. Network requests in scripts

PhraseX lets you create JavaScript scripts. If you choose to run a script marked as requiring network requests, it can send requests to the websites or services specified in its code. Depending on the script, the data sent may include text you have selected. Recipients handle this data under their own privacy rules.

Before adding or running a third-party script, review its code and destination URLs. Do not give sensitive text to scripts you do not trust. PhraseX does not provide a relay server for these scripts, and the PhraseX developer does not receive data that scripts send directly to their destination websites. You can stop this processing by not running or by deleting the relevant scripts.

6. Apple services, backups, and support

  • Purchases: Apple’s in-app purchase system handles PhraseX Pro purchases and renewals. PhraseX reads your purchase entitlement status to unlock features. We do not obtain or store your payment card information in the app. Apple’s processing of purchase data is subject to its privacy policy and applicable security measures.
  • Import and export: Backup files you choose to export may contain categories, phrases, clipboard history, and scripts. You choose where to save or share these files. Please keep your backups secure.
  • Customer support: If you email support@jaxme.dev, we receive the email address and message content you provide. We use them only to handle your inquiry, reply, and address necessary security or compliance matters.

PhraseX does not share user data with advertisers or data brokers. Apple processes relevant data only as needed to provide services such as CloudKit and in-app purchases, and must implement data protection measures consistent with or equivalent to this policy under applicable agreements and laws. Websites contacted by network scripts you choose to run are not PhraseX service providers. You choose that processing, which is governed by each website’s own privacy rules.

7. Retention, deletion, and withdrawing authorization

  • Device data: Local content remains on your device until you delete it in PhraseX, clear the data, or uninstall the app.
  • iCloud data: Synced content remains in your Apple Account’s private CloudKit database until you delete it through PhraseX or Apple’s iCloud data management options. Turning off sync alone does not automatically delete previously synced data.
  • Backup files: You store and manage exported backups yourself. Deleting data in PhraseX or uninstalling the app does not automatically delete backups saved elsewhere.
  • Support emails: We retain these only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and meet necessary security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations, then delete them, unless the law requires further retention.

You can withdraw the corresponding data processing authorization at any time by deleting content in PhraseX, turning off iCloud sync, no longer running network scripts, or disabling the PhraseX keyboard in system settings. To ask about or request deletion of support information you previously provided to us, please contact the email address below.

8. Changes to this policy

If our features or data processing practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date, and notify you through the app or this page when necessary.
